Groceries in the U.S. If you have no time to make the dough, ready-made pelmeni are sold in Russian stores and in the international aisle (frozen dumplings).

Ingredients

Dough

  • All-purpose flour - 3 cups
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Egg - 1, salt - 1 tsp

Filling

  • Ground beef / pork - 500 g
  • Onion - 1
  • Salt, pepper, a little water

Method

  1. Knead a dough from the flour, water, egg and salt. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. For the filling, mix the ground meat with the grated onion, salt, pepper and 2-3 tbsp of water.
  3. Roll the dough out thin and cut out circles with a glass.
  4. Put filling in the center of each circle, pinch the edges together and join the corners.
  5. Boil in salted boiling water for 7-8 minutes, until they float and are cooked through.
  6. Serve with sour cream, butter or vinegar.
Seal the half-moon first, then join its corners without trapping filling in the seam.
